ABOUT

KENNEDY WILLIAMS

Kennedy Williams discovered her passion for dance at the age of eleven at her hometown studio in Maryland, where she began a journey that would grow into a powerful artistic career. Trained in ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical, contemporary, and hip-hop, Kennedy has earned a reputation for her precision, versatility, and expressive performance on both regional and national stages.

A standout in the competitive dance world, Kennedy consistently placed first and received numerous special awards at regional and national competitions, quickly establishing herself as a rising star. During her years as a competitive dancer, she trained under esteemed mentors Troy Brown and Gloria Hampton (Ms. Glo of Dance Moms), whose guidance helped shape her discipline, performance quality, and artistic foundation.

Her dedication and athletic artistry also carried her to the finals and training camps for multiple NFL and NBA dance teams—an achievement that reflects her professionalism, resilience, and competitive excellence.

At just eighteen years old, Kennedy began teaching jazz at two studios, where she discovered a passion for choreography. Her choreographic work has since earned top awards and high placements, showcasing her unique ability to blend storytelling, creativity, and technical strength.

Kennedy received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and Choreography from Towson University in December 2025, where she studied under renowned faculty including Vincent Thomas, Linda-Denise Fisher-Harrell, Runqiao Du, Erin Du, Catherine Horta-Hayden, and Caroline Rocher Barnes. Her collegiate training sharpened her strengths in modern and ballet, shaping her into a refined, thoughtful, and dynamic artist.

In addition to her performance and academic work, Kennedy is the founder and Artistic Director of Studio 427, a private dance consulting and choreography service. Through Studio 427, she mentors dancers, creates original works, and develops artists who move with confidence, purpose, and passion for their craft. While currently operating as a private service, Studio 427 represents Kennedy’s vision of a future full-scale dance studio—one that will one day become a creative home for the next generation of dancers.

Next stop: New York City. With her sights set on dancing professionally and building her own studio, Kennedy Williams stands at the threshold of an exciting future. Guided by passion, discipline, and vision, she is poised to leave a lasting imprint on the dance world.

Artistic Statement

ARTISTIC STATEMENT

As a performer, choreographer, artist, and educator, I am driven by a deep desire to push boundaries, take creative risks, and continually step beyond my comfort zone in pursuit of excellence. My artistic practice is grounded in confidence—both in myself and in the dancers I work with—and in creating space for others to show up as their full, authentic selves without apology. I am passionate about cultivating environments where individuality is celebrated and every dancer feels seen, valued, and empowered.

One of my greatest strengths is leading with empathy and understanding. I approach each dancer with care, awareness, and respect for their unique experiences and needs. In working with the next generation, I am not only teaching technique and choreography—I am helping them build the confidence, resilience, and self-belief they need to thrive both on and off the stage. I want every dancer I mentor to know they always have a safe place to return to, someone who believes in them and stands beside them.

My mission is to create spaces where creativity flourishes, confidence grows, and dancers are inspired to dream boldly—secure in the knowledge that they are supported every step of the way.

Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that while technique is the foundation of dance, passion is its soul. I am most inspired by dancers who feel an undeniable need to move, to express emotion, and to envision a future for themselves in the art form. When a dancer feels disconnected from that sense of purpose, I meet them with creativity, individualized guidance, and encouragement—helping them rediscover the spark that first drew them to dance.

I am deeply committed to nurturing authenticity, not only in the studio but in every part of my dancers’ lives. My approach extends beyond instruction; I strive to cultivate an environment grounded in trust, compassion, and mutual respect. I believe in creating space for meaningful dialogue, where dancers feel safe to share their stories, challenges, and aspirations. These connections allow me to better support their growth and foster true empathy within our community.

Ultimately,

I want my dancers to leave my care knowing they gained more than choreography and technique—they gained a mentor who believed in them, championed their potential, and remained steadfast in their ability to grow, evolve, and succeed. I want them to remember not just the movement they learned, but the confidence, inspiration, and sense of belonging they carried with them long after they left the studio. 💫
